GLOBAL COLLABORATION FOR PEACE

Scenarios of the Future 2024-2035

Find here four thought-provoking stories of what future global collaboration for sustainable peace could look like.

Created to inspire dialogue and ignite new ideas, these scenarios shed light on the challenges and opportunities shaping global collaboration for sustainable peace. The RESPACE scenarios can help us lift our gaze and explore how future global collaboration could unfold, and they prompt us to think beyond the current system, including the current global governance and the aid architecture. As expected, the RESPACE scenarios contain bleak outlooks for future global collaboration, however, they also contain promising elements that can be pursued in order to counter the downward spiral.

In a partnership with the Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR) and Reos Partners, Conducive Space for Peace (CSP) launched the RESPACE initiative in early 2024 with the convening of 23 committed change agents and thought leaders from diverse professional, cultural, and geographic backgrounds primarily in the Global South. Through a series of convenings, one of them in-person in Kenya in June 2024, the RESPACE Team developed a set of four scenarios for global collaboration on sustainable peace as we move towards 2035.

A guide on how to use the RESPACE Scenarios for prompting further thinking and action within your own networks and organisations is coming soon. It aims to help you explore, within your own communities and sphere of influence, where collaborative spaces can emerge and what they could look like, recognising the crucial role of civil society.
